advance/max tow constraint April 2023?

Hey all, new to group. Searched this topic and didn’t see recent updates

I want to order a 23 Tahoe LT Diesel with advance/max towing package but wondering if that is still on constraint, will i be waiting forever like some have. Dealers i’ve talked to don’t give me a straight answer or keep trying to sell me something off the lot.

As a follow up, is that tow package *really* necessary or can i get by with an aftermarket brake controller and just not have the hitch view camera etc.

I cannot personally help you with your question; however, other members on this Forum that are much more knowledgeable than me in this area will chime in.

As of last week I was told by the inventory manager at Hendrick in Durham, NC that no items on my build were under constraint - max tow is one option my configuration included. Mine is a Denali with 6.2l so ymmv.

Your issue will likely be a matter of getting allocation. Items may not be on constraint but allocations may take a while to come around for the dealer you've ordered from. It may require a perfect storm of getting allocations for all your desired options at the same time.

While I think the timeline for an order getting picked up has decreased from what it was last year (I waited 9 months for a diesel premiere suburban in UT), diesel will continue to be one of the more elusive options to get allocated.

Good luck with your wait! It stinks having to wait but it allows a lot of time to research and participate on this forum and learn about the vehicle/platform/common issues.

My order wen to status 2000 yesterday
SLT Yukon Maxtow/duramax, no mention of constraints except for the SLT luxury package but that could have been dealer bs.

Ask the dealer for a copy of the WorkBench order. That will show the order RPO's and you can see if there are any constraints.

Went to 3300 today TPW May01 so duramax/maxtow not on constraints for sure.

My Yukon Denali diesel allocation came up last week. But the dealer said that there's a Max Tow constraint. Back to the waiting.

I was able to order a Tahoe LT with Max Tow yesterday and it was accepted by GM.
