Advice: 2012 Yukon Denali - Z55 Tires w/level

Good morning gurus!! Yes another question about tire fitment....I racked my brain trying to understand Z55 Auto ride, lift considerations, etc. @swathdiver got me lined out with every OEM component for all new suspension.

So here we are - dropped the 2012 Denali off this AM with a suspensionmaxx kit (adjustable front/1.5 spacer rear). I CAN NOT figure what size tire I should run!! As the pics show these are 285/45/22 (OEM 22 x 9 wheels).

I've narrowed it down to : (285/50/22) (33") or 33x12.5r22 , (285/55/22) Squeezing it with a 34" here

305/45/22 (32")


I'm looking for a proportionate fit, slightly wider with sidewall.....which the 22x9 (no offset) will obviously hinder me here. Nitto/Toyo

What size would fit the boxes here? I'm likely splitting hairs but I want to get it right!!

I appreciate any input and anything I might not be factoring.......(Ie - The guy at the shop thinks I'm sitting taller than most....likely because of the fresh suspension work which I'd think would setttle?

@swathdiver @Joseph Garcia - I'm meticulous natured; however, I have a silverado with a 6 inch suspension lift and 35's (ranch truck) so I'm all too familiar with modifying Toys. I don't want to do anything too excessive due to this being my daily driver (can't check all the boxes but I'll darn near try). The weight of the Nitto Recon grapplers are ~ 60.4 lbs, whereas my bridgestones (they ride like hell) are ~ 40 lbs.

I do look forward to adding some sidewall....these city streets are ROUGH on tires

Aside from having a spare on the driver side it turned out well.

I can't decide on tires though: (currently 285/45/22 Duellers) not impressive and weigh 47 lbs

Considering (285/50/22) Nitto Recon Grappler -E rated weighing 60.4 lbs
(285/50/22) Toyo AT3 - E rated weighing 56 lbs
(305/45/22) more options for LT rated tires but still in the 32" range

Anybody have an idea of calculation of power gain loss/lb of weight on tire?

I like those occasions where you can let that 6.2 rip on the entrance ramp and lord knows I already get 13 MPG....I need a happy medium.

I have only one quarter mile pass to answer this question, I ran my truck one night and then turned her over to my daughter for the last pass. I weigh 172 pounds more than she does, yeah, I'm a fat man, and she went .124 seconds faster and .80 mph faster in the quarter mile.

The young man courting my other daughter has 305/45/22s in an XL tire on his 3500 Dodge. I forgot the name but at least we know there's a P-Metric tire out there in that size that is not a heavy LT.

You have not told us what surfaces you plan to drive on. Let us know, unless your ultimate choice of tire is strictly on how it looks on your truck.

Apologies Gents - I've been out out of town and away from this headache of a project (never thought a level kit would be such a PIA)..... @swathdiver - You have an impeccable way of simplifying things in a logical comical manner! Great analogy!

@Joseph Garcia I installed Nitto Recon Grapplers 285/50/22 (from 285/45/22). Tires are great but rubbing BAD. I believe it's due to the OEM offset being + 24 (or along these lines) as I think they're rubbing on the inside (maybe control arms) NOT WHEEL well therefore theres nothing to cut out.

The only thing I can think of is to add spacers (which I believe is not always advised). Anyone have thoughts/ideas here? I'd thought a 285/50/22 would'be been a cake walk....
