Hey everyone,
New to this forum even though I have owned an 04' XL Denali for several years. Finally sold the 04' and picked up a low mile 11' XL SLT as it has all the options my Denali had except Navi and a few others that were not available in 04'.

My goal is to stick with a clean stock look but want to add some chrome to this very stock looking SLT. I picked up the GMC grille on ebay but would like to change the logo to silver from red. I also need a matching bumper grill. I would like to change the door handles to chrome as well and was wondering if the GMC accessory chrome handles are the best route to take or if I should go with something aftermarket. Have never dealt with any "stick on" stuff before but see putco and others is very inexspensive. Is it possible to remove these later on without damaging the paint?

Also looking to add chrome to the rear door - handles etc. Any advice would be appreciated in this area as well as best place to procure OEM GMC accessories. Already saw one post here for an offer on the Hybrid 22 wheels and tires. Wish I would have found this before I already purchased some replica hybrid wheels with tires as that deal was nearly as much and did not include sensors.

Thanks in advance... Some great looking trucks on this forum:)

Best Regards,

JD

Welcome. IMO you should add the oem chrome handles and not mess around with the stickies. Ive seen some on ebay for cheap just be sure they are oem. as for the rear I would try and find some oem denali chrome but if not available a sticky is the only way to go. a chrome roof rack would also look good like the ones the denali and escalade have. well theres alot of mods to do.

Your pic is tiny, so I can't see for sure, but it looks like you don't have chrome door moldings. Without chrome on the doors, I don't think it'd add chrome door handles. With chrome on the door, I'd definitely add the handles.

Some trucks look decent with a chrome handle/chrome rb combo sans door moldings.

Having said that I do have the LTZ door moldings in mah closet ready to be installed. :)

Thanks for the replies. I will pick up the OEM door handles. Is the chrome door trim mentioned the side molding that comes on the Denali's? My trim is just solid body color and I noticed that the Denali has body color with a strip of chrome along the top. Would like to change these out but what does that entail?

I also agree on the roof rack and will look for one of those as well.

FYI - I was able to cancel my order for the replica 22" wheels and get them from SuperchargedSS. The deal he is offering was too good to pass up and was very happy that I could take advantage of it.

Thanks again for all of the input,

JD

Yes on the Denali and on the last couple of years' LTZ. I can take a picture of them off the truck if you want to see what they look like.

A big thanks for the warm welcome and reply's. So, I now have the wheels on order and am contemplating my next move. The roof rack seems to be the next logical choice as it will have a big impact so holding tight until I hear back on the possiblity of sourcing one from here as well.

You've got me thinking about my decision to add the handles..... Maybe I should switch gears and add a performance exhaust first - too many mods indeed!!!:)

Welcome! Nice ride. Sounds like we have similar tastes. I love the sheer silver color and it looks great with oem chrome trim added. Definitely get the Denali/escalade mouldings. ScSS also has an Denali/escalade rear bumper cover with the chrome strip for sale. Both of those would look great to compliment the new rims.
