We have bought a 15' Yukon XL Denali new a year ago (January 31 2015) about the September/October time frame a shudder started appearing at various speeds 30-65 MPH it progressively got worse. It felt like we were temporarily driving over rumble strips. I don't believe it has anything to do the windows/sunroof issue I read about as all windows were closed. We have the 8spd transmission.

We took it to the service department in November they confirmed the issue but they had no "fix" but GM was aware of the issue and a solution was forthcoming. We had not heard from them over the holidays so back in mid-late January we contacted them back and they had this procedure to flush the transmission fluid replace the fluid, flush an additional time and change the filter which was supposed to fix the issue.

Needless to say it had no effect if anything it seemed worse.

Now just this week we had a newly redesigned torque converter installed that was the ultimate fix we received the vehicle back today and while there is an improvement over what it was there is still shudder that can be felt just no as severe or as frequent

I'm waiting for a call back from the service manager but the individual I spoke with said sometimes it takes a few days for the transmission to smooth out. To me this sounds like a crock of shit.

What are my options at this point if I could lemon law this sucker I would only problem is not sure what I would get to replace.

Any advice would be appreciated....Frustrated!

You may want to read this entire thread.. HERE

And read this... HERE

I have a 2015 Denali with 8spd manufacture date of Feb 2015 and I'm having a clunk noise coming from the tranny from stop to go (initial acceleration). Took it to the dealer and they did a software and a torque TBS. Nothing change still have the clunk. It sucks taking it to the dealer as I have to rent a car every time I take it in.

The clunk is the torque converter. My dealer tried everything. Finally fixed it with a new torques converter.

GM`S current rep[y for this issue is, "The truck is working as Designed per this document and is a NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC of the 8 speed transmission. Per PIP#5337C"
