I tried to install tho sin take on my 2015 Denali XL and even after removing the cross bar support I still could not get the air box to fit correctly. After hours of frustration I decided to return it and go with a K&N Black. Not what I wanted to do but for the money I should not have had the fitment issues I had.

Just to finalize my thoughts on the aFe CAI, it's very difficult to install in the 17 models for some reason. I did remove both cross bars to install plus I left that removable pin from the stock air box out of the new one. The molded pins are good enough for holding the box once it's all put together. Using the PLUG in the front definitely helps keep the growl to a minimum & actually tones it down considerably.

Thanks to those who advised, shared pics & thoughts. Makes all the difference when you get some help.

AFE just used my vehicle to test fit the 2017 and confirmed the momentum does not fit. They used my vehicle to prototype the new momentum kit and should have a new part in approximately 8 weeks. I am running the Stage 2 in the mean time and it is really loud

Did they say what changed under the hood for why it doesn't fit. I have 2017 Denali as well and looking forward to the new momentum kit.

The hole where the feet snap into in the inner fender are in different locations and the lid hits the support bar on the top.

Sounds about right OCyukon. I made it work but it was probably tighter than usual. Hope they put the new one out that soon cuz I'm sure some would like to buy it. I'll stick with this one unless they want to send me a free one to test fit. ;)
