'07 6.2s had the hardware but not the software.

Only the very earliest had the hardware but it was not active in the tune, those engines built prior to April 2005. The Tahoe, Yukon and Escalade went on sale in January 2006, the Tahoes started production in December 2005 at Arlington, the Yukon in Janesville and the Escalade started in January 2006 at Arlington. The Suburban, Yukon XL and Escalade ESV all began being built in March 2006 at Janesville, Silao and Arlington respectively.

So, only the very earliest Yukon Denalis and Escalades might see an L92 with AFM hardware but not active. Over at Performance Trucks forum about a year or so ago, there was a fella with one such motor.

My 07 6.2 does not have all the hardware. The valley cover is smooth.

Right, the lifters being the hardware. Sorry I wasn't more specific.

Yeah, so.. 07 being the earliest lol.

Either way, OP has an '08 so none of it applies to him. I was just giving him the cliff notes of why he doesn't have it. We can measure if you guys want though. It's the internet, everyone knows everything.

Yeah I've seen his posts a lot while lurking over the past few years. Just one of the reasons I hate the internet, hard to get the tone or context of a conversation across so it always seems like people try to one up eachother with throwing bits of information out one after another. Especially when I was just giving a quick answer to the guy that said he thought it was anything after '07. No hard feelings here.

If you do the AFM delete cam and lifters route. Can you simply run the RANGE plug in device, or do you need to tune it out?
