Hey guys, I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Since everyone knows that in tank fuel pumps are horrible, have any companies come up with aftermarket fuel systems? I replaced the in tank pump on my cummins with an aftermarket system that was awesome. Thanks!

Well, so far I haven't gotten any responses, and I can't find anything online either. But from what I've read, there are some folks on the Avalanche forum that have added inline "booster" pumps to their 8.1s. So, I'm wondering why I couldn't put a hollowed out fuel pump in the sending unit and add an inline pump that's capable of 60psi (what I've read the 8.1 needs).

Any thoughts?

Z-56,
Did the Walbro fit right in? Do you know the part number?

You can add something like a Kenne Bell boost-a-pump which increases voltage to your pump therefor increasing psi and flow. You could get a pump from a ZR-1 vette or get a dual pump set up. Look up aeromotive. They make a bevy of aftermarket pumps, internal and external, that's what the camaro and vette guys use when they want to make big power.

Been speaking with Aeromotive. They're really helpful and customer service is great, but they just don't have anything. Unless you're ready to completely overhaul the whole power train and need tons of extra fuel for forced induction or something. So I guess I'm back to what's considered the "best" factory replacement.
