Question. I have a 2010 GMC Yukon SLT with a factory Bose system and OnStar and steering wheel controls. What is the best interface to use for a decent price.. my local radio shop wants $250 just for the interface and I can't bring myself to pay that when I didn't pay close to that for the 10inch screen I want 2 put in. Any suggestions or does anybody have 1 they would want 2 sell by chance?

One of three different Bose amplifiers (if I remember correctly) depending on equipment and trim level could be installed in yours, the cheap interfaces (e.g. PAC) do not work that well with the high level Bose amp. Your shop is probably using the iDatalink Maestro interface which works well regardless what amp is installed in the vehicle.

Give the folks at Crutchfield a call and see what interfaces are available for your specific situation. Their prices are usually quite competitive.

what brand/model is the radio? the brand/model being used is critical to the interface solution
if it is one of the popular brands then you are in luck for a great interface, if it is some amazon-chinesium special then not so much.
the bottom line is if you want good results then your going to have to be willing to spend a little bit. $250 for a (un-named/unknown) interface is a bit rich (depending on the features)
you did not provide enough information to get the answer you need.

This right here! My PAC module that I had installed for my clarion headunit in my 2006 Denali with the Bose Lux amp worked fine but I when I switched to a slightly higher end pioneer unit with a couple more features that PAC module is 50/50…… sometimes it works and my steering wheel controls work and often times they don’t and I have to restart the headunit multiple times to get them to work. It’s super annoying. However that being said the installer that put the pioneer unit in for me and did a complete whack job on the wiring. Nothing was left clean and tidy and bundled together. He just mashed all the wiring, harnesses, and the module into the space and then just shoved the headunit in so I suspect there may be a very likely wiring issue on that end, or something was done incorrectly or disconnected when he smashed everything back in so that could be causing issues as well.

but to the point I have heard all good things about Idata maestro unit especially for the 900 series rigs running an aftermarket headunit that it works as intended and is reliable.
