Hello folks. I have a 2011 yukon denali xl. Would it be OK to use the AGM style battery in it? I've read mixed opinions? Don't see what it would hurt. Thanks.

I have had no problems with using agm's been using them for a LONG time, like 20+ years, they can go bad like any battery, but at least typically they give you a sign unlike a standard battery that may have worked 5 minutes ago but now it doesn't......

No problems really, they just won't last as long as they would in a vehicle programmed to use them. Our charging system can go over 15 volts and AGMs don't like that. They also liked to be charged at a lower rate, forget the specifics. They're not going to blow up if you use one, you just don't any better performance than if you had the lead acid batteries designed for these trucks.

Have them in my seldom used Corvette and 96 Tahoe for at least 6 years with a maintainer charger. My 2001 Yukon AGM is about 5 years old. All trouble free. Put an H7 AGM from Costco (best price) in my 2015 Tahoe last year. I find them worth the extra money.
