Not to hijack this thread, but figure people might have a good response anyway... in my 01 tahoe, when im just idle @ a light the a/c doesnt blow very cold... as soon as I accelerate it blows super cold (just had it recharged a month or so ago..)
Any reason why? Or how can I get it to blow cold constantly.

It doesn't blow cold because your trucks fan is the only thing pulling air over the radiator to cool it, and when you accelerate there's a lot more air going over it thus why it blows colder when your moving.

My neighbor recharged it as I was in the yuk with my foot on the throttle & ac on max... I noticed mist coming from the vents. (The mist being refrigerant). That means the leak is in the air plenum where the evaporator core is located.. new core and 10hrs later...Ac is back!!

I had the same problem on my 04... I replaced the AC and serpentine belts (the first time at 90K miles) and the ac seemed to blow MUCH cooler at stop lights. Don't know if this will help, but it was something I didn't think of.
