I know there has been a lot of posting done on this issue but I am unable to find the answer to my specific question. I have a 2004 Yukon Denali XL with the ride control. I took the compressor out last night and it is shot. I pulled the compressor pision sleeve off and the piston came with it and left a bunch of metal pieces (ball bearings, race, metal shaving, etc.) in the "crank case" of the compressor. Anyways I have to replace that and while I am at it going to replace the shocks on all 4 wheel. I am looking strongly at Arnott. However, their new replacement shocks do not have the electronics in the shock but rather they send you a wire to bypass the electronics so the dredded message doesn't come on on the dash. Now to the question....What are thes electronics for on the OEM shocks? I have been told they are for auto dampening going down the road. I a concerned that they have something to do with the stabilitrac system. Is this the case? Is this even anything to worry about?
