Hi guys,

6 months after buying the new compressor it's blown again due to water ingress. The shocks at the front are bouncy at the rear air bladders are starting to show signs of bursting.

So instead of spending all that money I think I'd rather just replace for normal shocks. What's the best kit for comfort? I'd rather have a simple system as I don't tow so don't need air assist.

What's a good set up? Will tahoe 5100's fit an 04 Escalade?

Thanks for your help.

A little more info would be helpful. What compressor are you running now (oem?) and is it possible that your compressor blew bc the rear shocks weren't holding air? Did you try to jump the compressor at the relay to see if it kicks on?

I am running the Arnott Bilstein kit and Arnott compressor. Had first compressor go bad, but they sent me another one the next day under warranty, and all is working well now. Cheaper alternative compared to the factory shocks and compressor.

I have dorman compressor that has went faulty due to water ingress, not because of rear shocks. The water has corroded the exhaust solenoid valve wire, fixable but will happen again and I don't want to keep replacing suspension parts. It's under warranty but I live in the uk and the return postage is crazy.
The rear shocks hold air but are on their way out so that's more money when they do finally burst or wear out.

I finally got rid of autoride a few months ago after two blown compressors and i used billstein 5100`s and i`m happy i got them. The ride is much better than the air ride garbage.

But if you eliminate the shocks you`ll get a service suspension message on the DIC and you can put resistors in to get rid of it.

Arnott sells a complete kit to replace the Autoride/air ride suspension. I used it on my 04 Escalade and install was pretty straight forward. It also came with everything to eliminate all the autoride/stability lights when the factory stuff is removed.
