I just discovered this . I've had my Tahoe for a few months and every once in a while I get out and walk away the Tahoe beeps and locks itself. I thought that was odd because I didn't hit the key fob to locked . I realized that I was hitting the lock button on the armrest while getting out and that set it in motion. if you hit the lock button once before closing the door it will chime and once you close the door it locks and beeps a few seconds later. Did anyone else know about this ?

These trucks do not beep from the factory or lock themselves. The only audible feedback you get from the factory is the horn. My guess is you have a aftermarket alarm installed. Check under your dash behind kick panel for any foreign looking wires.

Sounds like the Delayed Locking feature is active. You can disable this in the DIC menus.

Yup, delayed locking.

It actually locks 5 seconds after the last door is closed.

I use it all the time

Scary as shit feature if you leave keys in vehicle and accidentally activate it. I locked my son in our 06 Denali in our smoldering hot garage. Wife had other key fob and OnStar couldn’t unlock the truck while inside the garage.

AAA made it out before the fire department had to do a break in. I’ve taken steps since then to avoid that from occurring.

I keep a spare plain jane unchipped key in my wallet just in case I ever lock keys in.

I had it made for about $2 from the local locksmith near me.

It does sound the alarm/horn/flash lights if used, but once you grab the key fob that you locked in there you can turn it off

I know the previous owner and he did not add a aftermarket alarm .
