Here is my deal, I actually like the looks of the OE Headlights, they work good, I do not have major issues with them. But they are 7 yrs old and starting to look hazy, and that makes the truck look old...

What I do not like is they have the blackout area in the background. It does not look bad per se, but I would like an all chrome headlight

What I would really like is headlights that "appear Factory" but all chrome to go with the chrome grill. Or the same design as the factory but have LED strips at the bottom instead of the incandescent bulbs. So I have been looking high and low, with no avail, I have found some aftermarket designs that are decent looking, but others that are all out ugly IMHO. Some of the aftermarket ones that "change" the look are way overdone, they are out of whack and really do not fit the vehicle, or they are goofy looking when installed. Almost like someone went all out of their way to reinvent the wheel (or headlight) when all they had to do was incorporate LED's in place of the turn signal and DRL.

What are out there that others have used and actually work well. It has to 1) Look good and 2) Work Good, otherwise its junk IMHO

Thanks

Get TYC OEM headlight replicas and then open them up and paint/replace what you need to. same way people do HID projector retrofits... and you could do a retro while you have them open.

If you don't feel like you could do it all yourself, there are people like BlackFlameCustoms that could do it for you.

Nathan,
Thanks... I was wondering if that was the case... I might just do that. Long story short, someone bumped my front bumper causing the lower tab of the headlight to break off, so I am getting one headlight for free and then paying for the second. I will keep the old ones and after I get the truck back I am going to take the new ones off, disassemble them and paint the inside Silver... I just think with the LTZ has all that chrome, it will look better than the Dark background.

I considered going to the HID aftermarket type, but everything I have read they are not worth the plastic they are made of for actually being headlights... Look "cool" but I like performance and appearance. Also it will look "factory" when I get done...
