I need to get new tires for my 07 Yukon Denali before fall/winter so I'm trying to decide which brand and model to get.
The wheels are the factory 20" chrome wheels.
I'd like a tire the has good grip in the dry and wet, as well as occasional snow/ice since this is now my DD and I'm not exactly going to take the cammed camaro out in slick weather. I also occasionally drive on the beach/sand dunes but that would be very infrequently since I'll usually take my dad's pickup to haul the trailer.

The tires I'm leaning towards currently are:
1. Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza (current tire, OE I think, seems fine but they are getting toward the end of their life)
2. Nitto 420S (Seems to get good reviews on here and a good looking tire)
3. Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 (probably great snow/ice traction but concerned about dry traction and how quick they would wear?)

I'd be open to other suggestions as well. The bridgestones would be the stock size 275/55R20 and since Nitto doesn't make that size I'd probably go with 305/50R50 (very close to stock height but fatter). Will a 305/50 fit a Denali without rubbing? I'm not sure what width the stock rims are, is that tire too wide for them?

Thanks in advance!

I just got new tires and got the OE tires again. They are fine and they were cheap enough. I would stay away from snows for all year round. They will get crzy soft in the summer and you will wear through them in 2 months.

That was my concern as well. I do drive fairly aggressively when the weather is nice so that would probably make the wear problem worse in the summer.

I Just picked up a new Tahoe with the Bridgestone Duelers and while I think they will be fine as they get good reviews, if I had a choice I would get the Michelin LTX. I had these tires on an 02 Yukon and they wore like iron, rode great and did a good job in the snow. I have always had good success with Michelins and just bought a set for my wife's car. They are a little more expensive then the Bridgestones. I also like Tirerack.com and do the thing where you pick a local dealer to install through Tirerack's web site and have the tires shipped directly to the installing dealer. You can read reviews for these and the Duelers on their site. Here is a link to the Michelin LTX's if your interested. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...Year=2007&autoModel=Yukon Denali&autoModClar=

I think none of the tires you picked are any good at all. If you can afford the Bridgestones, buy the Dueler A/T Revo 2 instead. The Revo will give you a better ride and mileage than the OEM Alenza. Another good tire to consider will be the Goodyear Fortera Silent Armor, it is in the same price range as the Alenza.

I agree that the dueler revo a/t is a great all around tire, i have a set on my 87 suburban but the 20 inch sizes get really expensive.

Last year i got a set of cooper discoverer HT plus tires 275/55/20 and i love them.

You can`t beat the price @$110 a tire from treadepot.com plus they have a $50 mail in rebate on a set of tires right now. Thats where i got mine from and they shipped fast and cheap.

Last winter was pretty bad here in new york as far as snow goes and these tires made the stock bridgestones h/l alanzas look like racing slicks in the rain and snow, I wouldn`t take a new set of those if they were giving them away.

I highly recommend these tires for all weather conditions. And they look good too.

I HATE the Alenzas. They slide all over the place. And I dont drive like an idiot in the rain. If my Tahoe didn't have traction control my wife probably would have wrecked it by now. And they only have 30K miles and alot of tread left.

I'll look into the Revo 2. They are $160 more a set but if it's a big improvement over the Alenza it would prob. be worth it. The shoulder on them look more aggressive than the Alenza.

I was leaning towards the Pirelli Scorpions but ended up going with Michelin LTX MS2s. I didn't think an all-terrain tire would look quite right on a Denali even though they look good on the 4WD Yukons/Tahoes.
They are a huge improvement over the stock tires. So far it's just been raining a lot but if we get snow I'm sure they'll be much better there also. They are more expensive than the Bridgestones though.
