Hopefully some people out there have gone through this already and can help answer a few questions I have about installing this unit in my tahoe.

1. Can you retain rear console audio controls?

2. Can you use the OEM xm antenna? (I know you need the xm kit but wanted to know if the antenna can be used)

3. Is it hard to retain the OEM backup camera? (I believe you have to splice into the wiring for this)

4. I have the Bose Centerpoint system, does it truly retain use of the OEM center channel?

5. Can you use the OEM Nav antenna? (I'm guessing not)

6. Other than the PAC SWIX are there any other aftermarket adapters required to get this installed?

7. If you buy the video out cable for the iPhone can it display on screen?

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

FYI my main goal is to get a better interface for my iphone to the head unit for music/video but having an all around better interface would be nice.

I'm also wondering if a 2012 OEM Nav unit would work in my 2009 as it has iphone integration and a nicer interface as well. No one has been able to answer this for me, not even the dealership.

Car is a 2009 Tahoe fully loaded.

Thanks!

2012 Nav will work. PM me for details on where you can obtain one programmed to your truck. The harness is completely different but the place I got mine makes their own harness, completely plug n play. Also - the HD on the 2012 radio is awesome. Its so fast to load maps and music. There would not be video from ipod unless you purchased a lockpick and used the rear RCA jacks.

with the alpine 928, all you need is the perfect fit kit for your vehicle and everything will be in it for the install I was able to retain everything except review camara since I didn't have it, but everthing else works great the BT works well with my Galaxy S3 and IPad...

On the alpine website it says that the head unit isn't compatible with the Centerpoint system which I have. Anyone know if it will work? I plan on giving Alpine a call for more info on this.

I would like to know if the overhead monitor keeps all its functions with the Alpine INE-Z928HD, for me one important function is the use of the infrared headphones for example to be able to use the GPS while the kids in the back are watching a movie. Did someone know the answer to this?.

Thanks.
