alt wiring.

I have a 2000 Yukon, I also have a 250amp alt. The problem I'm having is the factory alt hand the rectangle plug, and the new alt has the square plug. Does anyone know if I can just change the plug end? If so, what is the correct way to wire it?

Imo about alternators, I would only use one that is made specifically for my vehicle(plug and play). What kind of alt is it?
