Do you think GM will ever offer the "barn door" rear hatch option on newer models? I love the feature on the later model tahoes/yukons.

I'm not sure if "barn door" is the correct term, but I'm refering to (2) rear access doors that open from the center and pull out, versus opening from the bottom and pulls up.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything. Thanks!

Barn door is the correct term, however if GM wants to make another one of these versions they would need to relocate the license plate area, which will probably be moved to the bumper like in the other body styles.

It would be neat to see a barn door NNBS.

i had the barn doors on my 98 tahoe and thought they were ok until it rained or i traveled a dirt road. not having a rear wiper really is a pain.

Barn doors was discontinued in 2001-2 I think. They will never have barndoors again. Im glad they did this, because the third brake light on the roof with barndoors, look horrid.

SW CT,
I would like to see them come out with a mixture of the two as they did with the older Astro vans...glass just like a hatch, but bottom part was barn door style.
