My daily drive has me operating the Tahoe at an average elevation of 3500 feet above sea level and the roads, all with grades from 4-15%. It's never felt very strong.

I had to drive to Ohio where I was on regular flat roads which were roughly ~500 feet above sea level......3000 less feet. The truck felt noticeably stronger and received better fuel economy too.

Has anyone else here experienced the same and if so, do you just accept that or is there anything that can be done to optimize things at the higher elevations?

Living in Colorado my driving will range from 4000-12,000 and I never notice any difference in power. However when I drive to Nebraska and South Dakota my mileage does improve a couple mpgs.

When I was in Ohio, it ran so much better it was amazing. Smoother idle and it had much more power from a dead stop and when kicking it to merge on to a highway, etc. Back up here at 3500 feet, the extra power and smoothness left the building. It sucks!

Moving up in altitude bogs down these trucks. Anything really, not as much oxygen up higher. Try running in Cali then up in Colorado lol
