Ambient light sensor confusion

I just picked up a 2000 Yukon XL with only 117k miles. It was parked and seldom used. I’ve been knocking off a lot of ugly. I need a tow vehicle and this is perfect. 5.3l, positrac with 3.73 gears and little rust. I added wheels and a 6” lift kit.

The OBD shows code B2647, ambient light sensor. And the headlight don’t go out in the daytime.

I ordered a new part but it doesn’t match what’s there.

Instead of one sensor there seems to be two sensors with a smaller head than the sensor I ordered.

Did I get the wrong part? or am I missing something. Why two sensors? Are they something else? This is an SRT model if that makes a difference.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

since it is a 2000 that was a crossover year and gm made both obs and nbs the same year, yours is a nbs so always order parts for a 2001, it reduces any parts confusion because these parts places still get it wrong 24 years later
funny thing too that vehicle looks familiar the previous owner may have posted it on here as well, maybe not but sure looks familiar

there should only be one on the dash as far as I remember, can you post a photo showing the 2 on your dash?

should only be one like this one
to replace it, remove the dash trim around the cluster and radio, it just pulls off, put the shifter handle down to 1st gear and pull it off comepletely
then remove the radio and you can reach inside under the dash and unclip the harness and the sensor just twists out, put the new one in, clip the harness on
put radio back in. put shifter handle down 1st gear put trim piece back on.
