So I just hooked up my new amp and capacitor and can't decide exactly how/where I want to mount them permanently. I'm curious to see what others have done and what kind of mounting brackets or platforms people are using. Keep in mind it's just one amp and one 2farad capacitor. I'm not looking for all out custom fiberglassed setups just some simple ideas.

Here's my current setup and before I get any criticism I know the wires need to be shortened and cleaned up a bit. I just dont want to hack everything up till it's in its final position.

Thanks ahead of time for any input.uploadfromtaptalk1405784380793.jpg

A lot of owners just screw down a nice big slab of MDF on the seat brackets and mount Amps and Caps to that. Here are some basic ones Google gave me, several members on here have more elaborate designs with full boxes to hold the items, covered in carpet, Plexiglas panels, etc. The whole shebang!

Thanks that is probably what I will end up doing. Although I did realize today that the back of the seat does not fold all the way down with the equipment in this position. I considered relocating them but, I can't think of a safer more well protected place.

In the pic you posted it's hard to tell how they mounted the msg? Is it just screwed to the metal pipes?

Hey Chris,

I did the same thing (and still need to clean it up), but it looks like you have it were everyone puts them.

I cut out some thin plywood and mounted the amp to the plywood and used heavy duty carpet Velcro to attach the wood to the carpet.

The look of the raised mount looks the best because you can hide the wires under the raised platform.

I wanted to keep my amps as "low" as possible (I used flat mounting), so when I fold down my seats for the cargo room, they touch the amps minimally.

I considered lowering mine all the way down but, as is it's nearly impossible. You can't tell in my pics but , my amp is actually sitting on top of 2x4s because it was too long and would not clear the metal seat bracket. If you look closely it kinda looks like the amp is sitting on top of the pipe. I also wanted to keep some air space under the amp since the cooling fans are on the bottom.

I wouldn't know how they secured it to the brackets, most i've ever done is ziptie my amp to the bars (small system stuff)

and about the amps fitting between the bars.. any amp is gonna get squished even if its flat on the floor.

As far as amp locations:

1.Under 2nd row (squished when folded)
2. Behind 2nd or 3rd (plain view/loss of cargo space)
3. Underneath gutted or custom center console in front (Nice)
4. Behind left rear panel where storage box is (simply throw it in or do a custom mount)

Just some options/ideas

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm now curious about this under console idea. Gonna do some research on it.
