Hey,
Thinking about adding some thump to the trunk, has anyone added an amp to the factory headunit? I know they make pac converters for years 2003+ but not the 2002... if it matters I have the factory sub which I plan on removing to make room for something new to keep things clean, no bose, and onstar which I could care less about keeping.
Thanks

simple LOC converters (line out converter) can be picked up pretty cheap at any local car audio shop.

not with factory radio, you'll need RCA or high level inputs.

well lets be specific.. YES you can avoid splicing into the stock HARNESS.. you can just add the LOC to the rear lines where the sub was. But its still technically jacking into the stock system.. but how else would you get sound ;)

splicing into rear sub lines, is still splicing into factory lines.

I see your point, not factory harness, but factory lines.
I should just add there is no simple plug and play, without adding a LOC. (factory radio) that is

yea i definitely wasnt trying to correct you.. just pointing out that it wasnt hacking into the harness and was an easy fix if he wanted to hook that sub back up later since it was tied in right at the sub.

Just add an LOC at the rear sub OR BUY A DAMN HEAD UNIT.. lol :)
