I have two identical Pioneer GM-D8601 monoblock amplifiers.

Can these be strapped to run the full 1600 RMS watts to a single 15" sub?

Obviously i would need a DVC sub to handle the power but how many OHMS per voice coil to get the 1ohm load on each amp.

Thanks!

it does not appear as those amps can be strapped together. sorry.

However on most 1 ohm stable amps that are strapped together the minimum impedance is now 2 ohms. just fyi

Well crap.
I've been away from this for several years now.
Currently I have one of the pioneer amps powering a kicker cvr 15 dvc4 ohm at 2 ohms @ 600 watts in a
ground shaker 4 cubic ft slot ported box.
The sub is rated for 600 rms so it's a good match.

It is loud and sounds good but just isn't quite doing it for me.
The depth and feeling in my chest isn't there.

Do you think there would be much of a difference between that setup compared to
A one ohm load at the full 800 watts on a better 15?

I want both amps and 2 15"s but not wanting to give up the room.

I have it on a decent pioneer head unit but.... The pre outs are only 2volts.

If you want to be loud and feel it than I say give up the room and go for the 2 15's. Honestly stepping up to 800 and a little larger 15 may be a little louder, but not a whole lot. It depends on which sub you have in mind. Also building a custom box to specs will help as well.

But I know what you mean. I have a single 10 on 600 rms and I really miss my 2 15's on 2500rms days lol.

This will definitely hit harder than your cvr. Could go 15 or 18 http://obsidiancaraudio.com/index.php?id=6

Or I would probably go with this one http://www.soundqubed.com/HDS215_p_223.html

Or get a bigger amp and a bigger sub

They will also have a "master/slave" selection switch. Some use rca signal between the 2 and other use a data cable
