An emergency fix for a fuel pump

I have a different theory.

I think that it is the screen around the pump getting dirty and not letting fuel through. You beat the gas tank and it shakes the sediment/dirt off the screen just long enough to let the fuel pump prime the fuel rail and start the truck.

Mine did this when it had less than a quarter of a tank left. Filled it up and not problems. I think that mine just has a really dirty lower portion of the screen.
