Anyone else ever experience a loud and annoying rattle coming from their muffler while their Tahoe/Yukon was parked and idleing? I got under there and everything looks good and tight and all of the exhaust hangers look good. I'm thinking its the heat shield on top of the muffler. I put a couple of hose clamps from home depot together and put it around the muffler and heat shield and tightened it down but that didn't seem to help the rattle at all. Anyone else ever experience this or have any ideas?

I blew out one of the muffler's "deflectors" within the muffler on my Mustang back in the day, and it rattled around inside. I have no idea how thees mufflers are constructed, but could it be that something is loose INSIDE the muffler?

The heatshield on my dads ranger does this even if you tighten it more it still rattles... I would just take it off and see if it goes away

I did the same thing in my jeep, also same thing happened to the catalytic converter too.

I would consider this a sign from up above and install an exhaust system. :lol2:

This happend to the catalytic converter on my old 94 mustang back in the day and the hose clamp trick worked on that which is where I got the idea from.

I thought about taking it off but wasn't sure if that would pose a problem or not.
