Annoying squeak/rattle

Hey y'all. Tomorrow will be a month since I bought my Denali XL. I average 1400 (mostly highway) miles a month. I recently noticed a couple weeks ago while driving low speeds through my neighborhood. There's a rattling/squeak coming from the very back when I go over small "ripple" type road surfaces. It sounds like it's coming from the back glass. I don't have anything in the back, and I tightened all the torx bolts under the "spoiler" that are accessible when you open the rear glass...no luck. It's funny, years ago, I bought a 1989 S-10 Blazer w/160k miles as a work truck/DD and it made the same rattling noise from the rear glass. Anyone else having the same issue? Is the rattle coming from somewhere else?

I also had a squeaking sound coming from my tailgate whenever I lifted it. Since I have the SLE model, it's a non-power tailgate and the noise was probably more noticeable than one with the power motor. After looking it over for a bit, I was able to pin-point it to the exact same spot B520044 found. A large glob of grease on the striker/latch pawl and the creaking/squeak noise is gone.

Make sure the jack and wrenches are snug in their kit. I’m pretty sure it’s in the d/s quarter panel under the back plastic trim trays on both the XL & base.

I'm battling a rattle in my Tahoe also. I identified the exact source, it is coming from the seatbelt retractor in the third row on the drivers side. Fortunately, I got a good service advisor. He let me drive him around and he verified that was the source of the noise. When we grab onto the seatbelt retractor, the rattling completely stops. That does not necessarily mean that the retractor is the cause of the noise. Generally, dealerships don't have a good success record on tracking down rattling noises. You either have to fix it yourself or take it to a third-party. Mine is at the dealer now, time will tell. Daytime Running Lights and engine Stop-Start are permanently disabled. But that's unrelated to the problem.

I had the exact same issue and fixed it myself with the fix posted above. Here’s pics of the latch. There is also. TSB from Chevy (# PIT5768 I believe). I tried to get my dealer to do it but mines a 2023 and they said the TSB only applies to 2022. Didn’t matter though because the grease fixed it. But that’s one incompetent dealer if they refuse to even read the TSB and try throwing some grease on the latch.

This made me feel like a sane person when I read it! I have an AT4 that has 1,000 miles on it and about a week ago I started noticing a rattling type noise that came from the back and would occur when driving slowly and over less than super flat surfaces. For me it was also noticeable in my parking garage at work (again, slow speeds and slightly choppy surface). I started to think it was normal and that I hadn't noticed it earlier because the vehicle was so new and I was distracted by just driving and learning the infotainment system. Then i thought it was maybe just how magnetic ride works. I'll be following this closely because it's annoying and it doesn't seem like it should be normal.

So after reading around on the interwebs I decided to look at the jack in the rear side panel. I wasn't expecting much, but it's an easy thing to look at. Lo and behold, when I open the cover and look inside I see 3 bolts that secure the jack. One bolt looks good. One bolt has the nut that is on about the 2nd to last thread before coming off completely. And one bolt is missing the nut entirely. This truck is 1 month old and has 1K miles.

So I take the jack out and start rooting around in the space until I find the missing bolt. One socket wrench session later and I've got all 3 nuts back on their bolts and snugged down. A short test drive later, where I focused on going slow and trying to hit bumps, and I'm hopeful it is as simple a fix as that.
Pics included to show what it looked like when I opened the compartment. Kind of baffling how something could be that far off of "inspected" with as little time as I've owned the vehicle. If the nuts managed to loosen themselves to that degree again, I will just put a lock washer on those posts.
