2018 Suburban, AC has never been great since I bought it used with 30K miles. I have had the AC checked and the mechanic was never able to find a problem other than it being slightly low on freon. Topped the freon off and the air was slightly better than before, but it did not last long.

The air will get cold at night, or on a cloudy rainy day. On most days in Florida its hotter than anything and this AC is trash.

I saw that there a lot of reports out there to replace the condenser. Is there a way to check for a bad condenser, or something I should ask specifically?

Would it be best to replace the entire system Condenser, Compressor, Evaporater, etc.? Or just try replcing it one by one until I find the culprit?

Any specific brands to purchase or even avoid? Thanks

Other owners will know better about the 2015 to 2020 models and likely condenser problems. I do know this though. Humidity is harder on a/c systems than heat. Dry desert heat at 100 degrees will be easier on a/c than a 85-90 degree day in humidity, like in Florida. The condenser is where the heat is dissipated that is removed from inside. A/C removes heat. Low refrigerant will not blow as cool as full refrigerant. If yours was slightly low, I would suspect the gauges attachment valves. An a/c system that is full has high pressure and will leak out quicker than when is low on presure.

The condenser will crack around one of the brackets where it is welded to the condenser.

Thanks, the latest repair that seems like it might have solved the issue was the main line had a leak. Fingers crossed it fixes it.
