Hey guys,

I am new around here. I just traded in my 2004 Z71 Tahoe for a 2010 LT 4wd. I am trying to be practical with this vehicle since I am working now, however, I do want to make some changes. My plan is to install the Ranch Hand grille guard I just got, 2" CCM kit up front with nothing in the back. And then get 275/70/17 BFGs.

Would this combo fit? I know lots on here have 1" in the back too, but I am trying to not do anything back there.

Thanks for the help!

Before I had the CCM kit I just had a 2 inch spacer in the front and never liked it. The CCM kit with the front and rear spacer is perfect IMO because it gives you more height and it levels the tahoe. If you plan on towing, your rear is going to sit really low with just the 2 inch spacer in the front. The kit for front and rear is only like $139. Get the rear spacer, you will enjoy the lift so much more.

I have some 3/4" spacers, never installed, sitting in my garage, that I want to get rid of...just mentioning if you are interested.

I just installed the ReadyLift front-only kit. You can adjust it (upon installing) to give you 1", 1.5", or 2" of front lift. I set it to give 1" of lift, and the truck is perfect. No need for anything in the rear.

Woah?! Is that a relative of the guy who put all the animals in that ark? Oh, you mean WHOA... Ok, I got it now...

Haha!! :)

What details are you looking for? I'll tell you whatever I know.

I was, frankly, tired of screwing around with Autoride links, thinking my truck was cali-leaning with just the rear dropped, and then had to replace a strut which may or may not have had anything to do with lowering the front... And, I don't think that the spindles-route is for me (don't want to get that involved in the front end)... But after having the truck in totally stock, front looking too low and the rear looking too high form, I knew I had to do something to level the truck. So, I had the front raised an inch.

The ReadyLift spacers mount atop the struts. I could have gone with a bottom-mount spacer, but these looked hearty and secure and the way for me to go. And they're adjustable, so that was key. I didn't want to go higher than an inch in the front, and these let me raise it only 1". Nothing needed to be done to the Autoride, either. The ride feels like stock because it is (you're moving the whole strut, essentially, and not changing the stroke of the shock).

I think it looks awesome. I'm really happy with it.

HA! That's what happens when you read an exciting post about a potential new future mod.. you forget how to spell WHOA... anyways I want this... and your truck looks GREAT! :Handshake:

The reason I never pulled the trigger on the 2" rear drop is specifically bc of the AutoRide issue with adjusting the links. It was disconcerning to read/hear and I didn't want to go through all that. Plus my main pain point is that it is not LEVELED. I could care less if it is dropped or raised... I just hate the 'Rake' look. Also how did you got it installed... shop your in your driveway? thanks again kmel!

Dang, Felix! You've got me running back and forth between this and the other thread! Haha!

I didn't do the install myself. Paid a shop I use often to do it. I think it took the mechanic 1-1.5 hour(s). His words were along the line of "it's no big deal."

It's a relatively expensive mod, maybe, but the look is dramatic. It just adds that little bit of space in the front wheel wells to make the truck look as it SHOULD look.

And, again, absolutely no messing with Autoride links.

I think you've read my posts on the matter, but I think these trucks were designed to have SOME rake (again, the rear handles are higher than the fronts, the back windows are on a different plane than the front windows, etc.), but the factory rake set up is an eyesore. There is still a hair of rake with only a 1" front lift, but to me it looks perfect. The lines of the truck still work (they look better, really), but the difference in wheel gaps is night and day.

If your goal is to be level, and you don't "need" to drop the truck, then I think this is the ticket.

I actually like the look of just raising the front. I had settled on the CCM kit but i think this might be a better option. Looks great!

One quick question, has there been any effect on gas mileage after leveling?
