So i take the yukon in for the GMC security accesories to be installed today (knock sensor, tilt sensor and 2-way remote). Got the call to pick it up they say all is well and working properly, everything seems on the up and up so i drive away. It was about 6:20 ish so getting pretty dark here on the east coast but i'm noticing or not noticing the super bright hid retrofits illuminating the road (Black Flame Customs retrofits) WTF!!
My lights don't come on at all just the amber blinkers and side markers.
I pull rt back in to the dealer stall and tell and show them the dilemma. About three techs stand around poking under the hood until finally they say ,"we have to call the guy that worked on your truck to see what he did or didnt't do"
Long story short the truck is still at the dealership for further inspection tomorrow, i'm not feeling so confident that they can find the cure being that these are an aftermarket item that they f***** up. Any ideas from my Tahoe Yukon bretheren?

Shit ... I have no idea how headlights and those accessories are even related.

I had the tilt and shock sensors installed when my retro was on and it was unaffected.

The only thing I can think of is that the tech started messing with your harness/ballasts, or he might somehow fried the ballasts, but that seems unlikely.

Since part of the lights are functioning you know power is going to them, and no one can get to the projectors themselves ... so it has to be harness/ballast related or he fubared something when he reprogrammed your computer.

You might want to take your stock headlights with you tomorrow to see if they fire up normally, that will start eliminating potential causes.

Sorry bud. :(

They checked the fuses under the hood for the headlights and say they checked out fine do we have additional headlamp fuses inside the truck? I can only surmise a bad fuse or the programming was done wrong.

hmm... now that's just bizarre!!!

Serge is the resident HID expert (if there even is such a thing), but certainly awkward.

COME ON ROBERT, NOT TO WORRY!!!!!!

All you will need to do is send your VIN # to GM Customer Service (Breanne) and she will gladly "look into it" for you.

Serge just has no idea ... I know retrofit/hid basics but certainly not enough to figure out how unrelated accessories might have caused this.

I'm thinking your best best is contacting BFC and ask them if they've ever ran into something like this ... alternatively you might want to ask over at hidplanet.com. Many folks there know this stuff inside out.

Odd.. None of those add on requires tampering or splicing into anything with the lights. Might me a programming issue with the bcm. Ive installed the tilt sensor and shock myself. All it requires is mounting the sensors in said placed, connect one to the other sensor and Plug 3 wires into empty cavities on certain bcm plugs. from there, the tech takes the scan tool and programs the bcm to see the new accessories added on. Very weird issue you have going on.

Are you running HID's? You should have a fuse on the wiring for your HID's. I doubt he would have tapped into a ground for the lights but check that. Depending on if you have stock headlights or not I doubt they are on the same wiring.
