Yeh they checked the fuses to the hids they where good to go, I am at a total loss as others have stated these items are totally unrelated. Is there a headlight fuse where the sensors are plugged into the bcm maybe he blew a fuse accidentally when plugging in the sensors.

No I think what yates means is that there should be a fuse between your battery and the ballasts ... did you check that one?

For that matter, did you make sure they reconnected the harness to the battery?

Well hopefully my trials with this thing will help someone in the future that has a similar issue. Thanks folks for all of the advice and hope to have some positive news tomorrow.

Good luck Robert ... hopefully BFC can be of assistance as well.

On a side note, as unlikely as the timing may be, there is the remote possibility that the two events are unrelated and the retro issue would have manifested on its own. Just throwing it out there as a possibility.

Let us know how it turns out.

I can't see anything being fried to the ballasts as that is what the fuses are for. I would double check the wiring to the ballasts, seeing as how they are aftermarket the dealership may not be looking at all the wiring. The only things that would cause the lights not work is wiring, fuses, something not right with the ecu, or ballasts but I still can't see why the fuse wouldn't blow.

Anybody think the headlight switch wiring might be F-ed up by some rookie? Headlight switch wiring is relatively close to that area.

That is certainly a plausible theory ... hooking up an oem headlight would confirm/discount it.

SW CT,
I would bet it is some programming issue with the BCM. I would have them look at the auto-headlight functions and make sure they were not messed with.
