Going to drain and refill.... Do I need to use Dexcool? Local parts shop sells it but said that I should use a standard 50/50 mix of any major brand and 1 container of water wetter....

Use Dexcool only(orange color)

I prefer people use straight coolant and purchase distilled water separately. It allows you to alter your mixture concentration. Nothing wrong with a 70% coolant mix. It raises your boiling point and lowers your freezing point.
