So last week the Yukon started making this noice and it got pretty pound with the passing days, finally I was driving it to the mechanic and the sound got really loud for about a block and then went away... I now my AC isn't working and im wondering if they can be related? I'm guessing yes but wanted to hear if anyone had any further information or has been through it.

Check out the video!

thanks!

Wow your just now really concerned about it because your a/c stopped? That's either a motor on its last leg or your about to lose most of your serpentine belt system. If your pulleys (a/c pump included) actually managed to hold together long enough they could start getting that loud. I dont know your reasons but if a vehicle is making loud noises that it shouldn't be making take it to a shop asap and atleast pay for a diagnostic. If you atleast know what is causing the issue you can atleast change some of your normal routines to try and not cause any more damage.

I started making it really loud that I could notice it with the windows up or down once i was on my way to my mechanic. I could notice a sound that I could have sworn was the belt but it was low than I could hear it when I was driving in my back alley or by parked cars. The video was taken on my way to the mechanic. Like I said it got loud a block away from him so I stopped and recorded the sound then once i started driving it went away and my AC I noticed days later that it had stopped working.

Even now a month later the truck is still running perfect with no sound what so ever and the mechanic did nothing. Really my question is to decide if I should go to pick and pull and get a new ac pump or whatever, im guessing the pulley was going and then it ended up going and not its just spinning but doing nothing? Idk much about ac.
