Any Way to Retain RSE in an NBS Rig with Aftermarket Head Unit?

I've read a lot of threads here and can't find a definitive answer to this. The 6 disc in-dash UC6 in my Yukon is toast. I am exploring what to replace it with and this is what I have now stock that I would like to retain:

Bose
Steering Wheel Controls
Onstar
XM
Overhead DVD
Chimes
RSE

I believe the GMOS-100 will do all of these with the exception that I'm not sure about RSE in a NBS rig. Can anyone confirm that GMOS-100 will retain all of these functions or not? If it won't retain RSE in my rig then is there *any* way to retain it without a factory head unit?

I don't really want to throw another factory changer in there only to have it crap on me in 6 months. And I'd love to have a new head unit that will allow
me to add nav and backup cam. If I can't have it all then XM is my lowest priority in case that helps in some way.

I believe there are some threads around here about it, but you can definitely get audio from the factory overhead DVD. As for rear audio controls, I am unsure. You could also do things the way I plan to; ditch the gotty, monsterous factory 5" screen overhead DVD/screen combo with a 15".

Excellent - thanks for that! Now I need to ask something that is totally noob. How do I tell where the selection takes place? Put a DVD in and see where I have to push something to make the audio come over the speakers? I'm not exactly sure.

if you have in a dvd, hit the source button on the radio and it should go though all the sources including RSE

Ok thanks for bearing with me Nathan - I do REALLY appreciate your help. I don't have a lot of experience with car A/V and this rig is new to me but I'm learning.

So when I am playing a DVD I can make the audio audible by selecting the RSE source via the button on the factory head unit. Based on the other threads you referenced I think this means the following:

1. I can use the GMOS-014 to retain RSE, BOSE, chimes, Onstar, XM (not sure about this as the Metra site doesn't specifically list it - do I need something else for XM?), and also to connect all the nav stuff if my aftermarket head unit has nav.

2. I also need ASWC-1 to retain the steering wheel controls.

Does that sound correct? And, if in addition to this I want to add a back-up cam that will require completely new wiring between the cam and the new compatible aftermarket head unit - right? (But I assume the reverse wire on the GMOS-014 will tell the head unit when to switch to the cam view).

Do I also need the GM factory antenna adapter?

sorry, was on vacation. you have to get an aftermarket kit, whether it be metra or any other one. it will have brackets that get bolted to the side of the radio that an aftermarket radio won't have.
