They must be pretty handy to get them out without breaking them. I tried removing the glass on mine before, even while following instructions, and ended up breaking it!

Never heard of them stealing the mirrors before. I have heard of them stealing the LTZ 20's thats become a problem around here. Maybe they needed new mirrors and just took them off yours. Some guys stole the Silverado lettering on my uncles 07 once. Sucks that it happend.

One of the guys at the dealership told me that he has heard a lot of similar stories like that because a lot of people bring their trucks back in to get the mirror re-wired. The thieves are pretty smart about it because they will cut just enough wire to allow them to install it on the new truck and enough to make you spend the extra money to get things fix. I was thinking about adding that to my truck but after hearing what he told me, I hold off on it. Sorry to hear that it actually happened to one of us on this forum.

IMO we should just get something that epoxies straight to the mirror... if it gets pulled out, it'll break. Maybe wire a steel cable and attach it to the door somewhere, epoxy the back of it to the mirror. They steal your mirror, it'll come out broken.

This is all too common in Dallas

stealing of these mirrors is very common down here. you will see base tahoes, silverado's with signal mirrors down here. and for what? they sell them for like 60.00 for the pair.damm sucks. sorry for ranting its just they are so expensive to replace. they sell a ring molding that i beleive is made in Mexico that goes around the mirror. it will prevent the mirror coming out.it goes on the outer part and over the housing of mirror. they sell them for 119.00 for the pair pricy BUt it will work and it looks subtle so you wouldnt really see it cus its black.

this will only make them break the housing as long as they get the part they want they won't care about the rest of the housing. and they just stole my passenger mirror on my 03 yesterday. piece of ***** folded the mirror back in to make look like nothing happened. and the only ones i've seen online go for 260 for the pair. any specific place i should look for them?
