I was considering installing KAtzkin LEather in my 2008 Yukon. I have seen some replacement seat heating units and I was wondering if anybody has ever installed heating units in a truck that didn't come stock with it?

Would I need different alternator or need any substantial upgrades to teh electrical?

Tahnks so much.

This can be done without any significant upgrades. There are a few parts you will need, but nothing too outrageous. For more information, I would give this thread HERE a read. Good luck!!

HEy thanks.

I ahve a 2008 with a warranty until 90k miles or two more years that I got and it have been a great warranty thus far. IT has paid for itself already, so I don't want to buy a new one just to get leather and a back-up camera just yet.

Thanks again

I was looking at OEM Part Number 19158412 online and there was a statement that said that the Yukon will need to be reprogrammed?

What could possibly need programming?

Thanks again.

The computer will need to be reprogrammed by a dealership for it to recognize that you have installed heated seats. Because the option is not currently installed on your Yukon, the computer in your vehicle would not have the programming to actually turn on the heated seats. It shouldn't be too extensive (but I don't know for sure). However, it does require a visit to the "stealership."
