Did a spring cleaning on my Tahoe this past week and removed the OEM steel spare wheel that comes standard on the vehicle. Nothing terribly exciting, but got to thinking about ditching it and replacing with with a matching OEM 18" Z71 wheel.

Anyone replace the steel spare?

Just kinda wondering if it's worth the bother. Cosmetically you're not going to see it, but if I did get a flat it would be nice to slap on a matching wheel versus steel spare.

Just my 2 cents, but unless you do a 5 tire rotation to keep one matched with the others in case you have a tire that can't be repaired, that spare is just going to sit under there and get tore up and look nasty. I'd probably leave the steel one unless you find a matched wheel real cheap.

Why?

Excellent point. Better ways to spend $900.
