Don't cut them off completely. There's always contact between the bushing and lower control arm, its part of the spring rate for the torsion bars. If you cut them off you would definitely have some issues. I trimmed a half inch without any problems

I trimmed off the entire thing metal and all and noticed it rode a lot better
now after having them off for quite some time and riding on the freeway with big dips and such I regret it

city driving.. great ride with minor metal on metal contact
highway driving.. sketchy

I will be putting in bump stop soon and see how it rides but definitely do not cut all the metal off unless you bag your ride and need that clearance to get lower

I believe some of the guys up here have installed z71 tahoe bump stops and did not cut them at all.

I love my z71 tahoe stops, you can trim them down a bit if necessary but I prefer a more positive ride.

Took the front stops out completely. Left the bracket, but rode better w/o them to me. Like hoe said, ocassionaly it would get floating, but nothing crazy. Surely lowered it in the front, but now i have them back in, (had none for probly 4 months) rides lil harsher, but feels like i have more control of the front. Also i have Z71 front stops.

i blew my cups off with a torch about 10 years ago. rides great on the highway, bad city pot holes are a little harsh. what bump stops are you going to use? i'm planning on bagging the front soon so i light not use anything
