Anyone ever remove/replace the whole rear evaporator housing?

For my broken blend door, I attempted to unclip the housing and pry it open to access the blend door. Could not make that happen. It appears that there are two nuts beneath the truck and then two screws inside the cab securing it to the sidewall. Once I pull out the evaporator from the housing and disconnect the electronics, does this whole assembly come out pretty easily? I get the impression this thing is easier to deal with once the whole thing (or at least the top half) comes out as a unit. Does this sound about right?

This is the part I want to remove and either repair or replace

Well, I must say I am surprised. I know the blend door actuators fail, but it seems not many blend doors actually break off at the shaft like mine. Would have thought having to swap out that rear evaporator housing would have been fairly common. Thanks!
