Anyone ever tinted their headlights?

My 07 Escalade Headlights are scratched pretty good by the previous owner. I was thinking about lightly smoking or tinting them. Anyone done this?

sand them down and clear them, I've done it plenty of times start with 320 grit and finish with 800 they will look like new. these are the grits i use 320,400,600,800. then clear

I agree but If you are only cutting fine scratches you can use 800 1000 1200or1500 wet . And will give you finer finish.

Great info guys, thanks. I'll go that right. Upgrades are REALLY $$$$ for an Escalade. Price a set of Platinums.

Compound and a orbital buffer after some 1500 will clear them up very well.
Just be sure to sand them in the same direction.
No circles.
