ahh that sucks.

if you can't update anything. it sounds like a software issue on the acdelco side. I had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos on it before I got mine to work. but I was on a laptop with bearly over min spec and cell phone Hotspot. both they say aren't great. it wants a lot of ram for a Java environment or something and great internet connection.

mine did still fail a few times here and there, but it wrote everything after a few tries. which from the frustration I saw in videos from flat rate guys and in the development thread was pretty common. gm has God awful software engineers that seem to just new one top of bad old coding. rather than fix anything. Just make things work.

now that you're on officially supported hardware, you can also use techline support or whatever it's called and they can remote in and make stuff work worse case?

I haven't been able to update ANY modules. Same error.

The driver's door module contains all of the switches for the windows, mirrors, door locks, etc. When I disassemble it the switches are little plastic rockers that depress a rubber membrane that covers the whole circuit board. There's no individual electronic switch to replace.

does it show any communication errors if you scan for dtc's
there is a option in the tech2 to scan everything and as it goes along checking each and every module it says if there is any errors or no response, etc
it scrolls along on the screen as it does this test
maybe see if there is a some kind of system bus errors
I am poking around seeing if there is something else that might need to be checked or done

Yeah that's going to be the next step, not sure if they're open tomorrow but contacting their support is the only thing I can think of that's left.

I can try that. My tech2 has always been a little finicky though. Connection errors on and off again. Again, it's one of those things - is it my vehicle or the fact it's a clone?

Well, I just re-installed Techline connect on the FIRST computer that wouldn't work, and now it's installing. On the first try.

I swear, this stuff is going to send me back to carburetors.

Thanks all for following along with my insanity. Looks like the OBDX Pro with the right computer works.

I have had communications problems with mine in the past but I discovered it is a poor connection at the obd port, I found a obd splitter and plugged that in and it's a nice snug fit and then I plug the tech2 into one of the 2 ends it provides and no communication errors of any kind anymore.
you could try wedging something in the upper side of the obd port between the kickpanel and obd connector to make it tight and see if that does anything.?
other than running that scan as I mentioned then you could try these tech2 tree's and see if there is a option to learn the module to the vin? doubt it but see what it shows
Driver Position Module Setup – Vehicle Control Systems > Computer/Integrating Systems > Module Setup > Driver Position Module

Driver Door Module – Body and Accessories > Doors > Module ID Information
Driver Door Module – Body and Accessories > Doors > Special Functions

Body Control Module – Body and Accessories > Doors > Special Functions

Set Options – Body > Door Module(s) > Driver Door Module > Special Functions

I did poke around there with the Tech2 when I first got the switch, didn't find anything to 'learn' it to the vehicle.

Now that the programming is complete, all switches appear to be working.

Thanks for putting in the time to try and help.
