Just curious...I took my spare out a few weeks back after fiddling around with my suspension & haven't put it back yet. I've gotta say I like the look of the rear end of the Tahoe better with the spare removed...

Anyone move the spare into the cargo area? Pics? How to mount & secure it?

Mines just sitting in the garage after I discovered it wouldn't clear my front spindles/rotors or my rear rotors. Felt a little better afterwards without the added weight, not a huge difference but was noticeable. Looks better too

Why wont it clear the rears? I got a 17" spare to fit over my front. But i cant see it anyway. So i dont mind.
But if you put the spare inside, where would you put it? In the corner like the OBS ones? In that left hand side.

I have thought about building a roof-mount for mine. It is stupidly complicated to get the spare off and if I ever needed to in a hurry I'd be screwed. Not to mention the jacks suck.

i dumped mine to make room for my air tank, compressor and valves. i am getting AAA because my spare wont fit the lug nuts my 22's use so i would have to carry 6 extra lug nuts with me. that and i am scared the jack will break/topple over while the wheel is off and kill me. i'd rather pay $35 a year and be safe

Faux big brake kit ( ssbc caliper relocating bracket and bigger rotors) Bottle jack was junk and I tossed it about 2 yrs ago so there wasn't much reason to carry a spare and no jack, alot easier to just carry a AAA card

If you aren't sporting a 3rd row seat you could probably put it inside and still have some carrying space in the cargo area but I think you'd lose any cargo space you might've been able to use if you did have a 3rd row. Could be wrong tho since I never had a 3rd in mine

my hanger bracket broke and was a huge pita. havent put it back on, besides i need a bigger spare, stock 17'' makes it lean funny with the 24's. spare now lives in the garage.

I have the third row...I don't think I want to sell it. I'm still debating options....just looks so much cleaner without it under the truck.

just take it off the truck. If you get a flat call a wrecker or AAA... Im calling a wrecker, either way, too many people get hit here on the side of the road for me..

just get triple A, thats what I did after I put my baer brakes on the denali now I cant fit anything smaller than 20's so the spare is pretty much useless.
