I just bought an 01 tahoe lt and im probably going to be giving it a lift and put mud tires on it because its only a winter car. Ive been looking around and see that everyone makes their trucks off road capable but does anyone really off road their Tahoe? Ive seen a lot of jeep and even toyota off road forums but arent our trucks able to do the thing these other SUVs can? Of course jeep is going to be off road but even ford explorers. Whats the reason im not seeing many people going off road in our trucks?

Sure ours can do all sorts of stuff! I have taken my 01 through some pretty nasty stuff. Of course its not a a jeep or something, but they are pretty capable!

Yeah make it a offroader. Why not. Im sure its more than capable of it. Especially if you lift it and all that. (sorry dont know much about lifting) but i see why not to do it. Just like a rental, there isnt no where they cant go..

Well like your johnny that looks pretty capable. I want to lift it throw on some skid plates and go trailing. I see a lot of lifted trucks on here but no pics of people taking them off road. i guess i need to start researching some lift kits

Lifted is the way to go..... money is a factor.. but mainly good set of aggressive tires makes the biggest different.. traction is the key to off road.. and then ground clearance comes next.. these trucks can get threw all sorts of "sticky" situations and are very capable...

I love the way my truck is now. I may go a lil bigger in the future as long as i have the power to back it up.
