Anyone regret removing their side door moldings on the 07-up SUVs?

Curious if anyone regrets removing their side door moldings off of their trucks? My wife sometimes drives it and honestly I am afraid to think where she parks it at times. I am sure she is that one sucker that parks right next to the buggie rack that ends up with a basket against the truck when she returns from a hard workout on our bank account at a local clothing store. This is the main reason why I have left it on. Like others, I too am suffering from spotty side moldings on a black truck. I have to admit it does look clean, But function rules over beauty in my eyes most of the time.

Thanks

PS I also have the "Tahoe" for both doors and the rear that I had painted a satin/flat black by a local BMW dealership....I was going to install them, but chose against it if anyone is interested.

Don't put on those Tahoe badges.
And yeah I removed my molding because it did notmatch the truck good enough for me, but mine was in almost new condition. I have no regrets about pulling them, I just got matching door edge guards from Euro Bumper and put them on all the doors.

I think the clean look is great too, but I've seen more than a few carts, car doors, and other things that have hit the molding instead of the door. Like you said, function over beauty. I cringe a bit when something hits the molding, but if it was hitting the door, I'd be PO'd

I think that there are lots of people out there who feel that door moldings are "bumpers" -- that they're there so that you can go ahead and open your door into them. I don't have any real evidence to support this, but I just think that a case could be made for moldings to "invite" people to rest their doors against them more so than if there was nothing there.

nope, no regrets. I like the look, it encourages me to park far and walk more, and it was really something that made a big difference to the looks of the truck, without spending a boat load.

Most people don't care if there is molding or not......they slam their doors into our trucks without any concern.......:emotions122:

:imo: the molding is a looks thing only....take it off......

Take 2 spots when you park in public and no one will open their door into you.

I guess I am at a somewhat loss. I bought my 2000 Limited 3 years used for $15k stickered (left in glove box) for $33k. Never had any fails with the vehicle. Saying that, I find it funny how cheap some of these add ons are for the NNBS. Now dont get me wrong I love the looks, but $50k for a vehicle with parts that fail in 2 years (fading molding, Failing gas gauges...etc) GM is running a nice little hustle. I just feel sorry for those people who actually bought their NNBS brand new.

That being said Ill be pulling my moldings off this up coming weekend.
