Anyone running withOUT catalytic converters?

I was going to remove my cats but I replaced the driver side rear o2 sensor in reference to the same code you had. The light went out 2 days later and hasn't come back since.

I had already all of the sensors a few months ago and since the truck did have 185k, it just seemed to be a safe bet the cats were done. sure enough the cats did sound like a rattle can when you shook them.

without the cats do you smell any fuel while driving?

o yeah, it smells pretty good. i cut mine out a long time ago.
