I tend to stay away from mudding. 5 mins in a mud pit = 6 months of cleaning and not to speak about the hell mud takes on all your rubber seals, axle fluids, and u joints. I would look around for a Off-road club and see if they have any rides planed. I do know there is a few ORV parks in your area. I been wheeling for about 10 years now and as long as you don't do nothing to crazy or let anyone talk you into doing something with your rig it is a very capable off-road.

Make the run down North Padre Island to Mansville cut. It is about 60 miles of empty beach. Plenty of sand and 4wd is a must. Take another buddy, preferably one with a winch. Camp a day or two, drink beer, grill, etc. The whole run takes a minimum of 4 hours one way, if you hustle. It is easily 5 to 8 hours down, and another ride back. Take a firearm. Lots of banditos and smugglers.
