I have an 09 nali xl and I "thought" that when the key fob unlocks the doors the outside lights are suppose to come on, puddle lights and back up lights. Mine do not. NOW if I open the rear glass with the key fob, it works like it should. What is going on - any ideas before I take it to the dealer???
The lights stay on when I get out of the car at night??????? Thoughts?
Thanks

Quick, and potnentially Silly, question. You are testing this at night? In low light conditions?
Mine only comes on when the ambient light detector senses lower light conditions (Dark or parked in a garage / shade)

They only come on when its dark enough. During the day cover up the little black ball on the center of the dash and you will see them come on.

Just thought of something...

Have you checked the Trip/info computer?
There is a setting to turn the perimeter lights on/off.

The lights stay on when I get out of the car at night???????
Was unsure if this refered to the perimeter lights or the headlights.

You need to scroll through the DIC and have your approach lighting set on. Like others have said, the truck has to detect that it is dark enough outside for your lights to actually come on.

X2. I thought that mine were just burned out, changed the setting and through in LED bulbs and now they work great.

OK, just to set the record straight - I KNOW THAT IT HAS TO BE DARK OUTSIDE!
Now on to the second suggestion - I have set the computer to "ON" also.
NOW - it does work AT NIGHT- but only with when the rear glass is unlocked with the remote, that is my issue???
Thanks all!

haha we arent calling you stupid by any means, we just wanted to make sure you understand, and it will hopefully help others, so we will all be on the same page... :Handshake:

since it all works just under one condition and not the others than i would say swing by the dealer and see what they have to say
