Are the 2021+ Tahoes that much better than a 2020?

We had a low mileage, good shape 2017 Yukon 4x4 SLT and replaced it with a new 2022 Yukon SLT that we ordered. Loving the 2022. I'm an old truck guy and even with the IRS while it confudles my brain it rides so well and handles so well. I did put KYB MonoMax struts and shocks on our 2017 and that greatly improved the ride and handling of it but this 2022 is probably better as it sits now with the OEM struts than the 2017 was with upgraded suspension.

Meanwhile the 10 speed transmission is so much better than the 6 speed and the interior is just a nicer place to be.

We liked our 2017 but love our 2022. We also took advantage of the high resale values during COVID and got a great trade in price on our 2017 and I got the family plan price on our 2022. In today's market we might have kept the 2017 longer.

My wife had a 2016 LTZ Tahoe. We traded it on a 2021 Suburban Z71 (both with the 5.3).

I never liked the seats in the 16 nor the crashy ride with the 22's and the solid rear axle. All of that is gone in the 21+. The ride may be partially attributed to the longer wheel base and the extra sidewall on the tires, but I'm certain most of it is from the IRS in the back.

The seats in the 21 are way more comfortable to me.

Also, the 360 view cameras are fantastic and worth upgrading to the 21+ just for that.

Lastly, my .02$. Until we got the Suburban we've always had a Tahoe (01, 04, 07x2, 16). Now that we have the Suburban I can not go back. A Tahoe is 99% of the hassle of driving a huge vehicle, but with only about 75% of the utility.

Your 2020 is barely broken in. If you can take the hit financially AND really think a new one is that much better, go for it. I would have kept my 2010
had rust issues not reared their ugly head. Of course there is the keeping up with the Jones's thing......
