Are they the same setup???

A 350 5.7ltr vortec and a 454 7.4ltr vortec out of both a 97 gmc sierra the same setup. I know the difference is the cu in displacement but if I was to take the 454 out of a 3500 could I just swap it into my 1500 without having to take anything else like the wiring harness and computer or is there a difference????

There are many differences. I can’t recall if the 97 1500 had an option for the 454 so the motor and trans mounts line up. @Doubeleive can probably give a snapshot of what you’d need.

I haven't owned a obs in too long, last I had I pinballed on a overpass wayback around 2000 and totaled it.
