New to these forums. Came here from another forum which was cluttered with ads and a ghost town in terms of user activity.
I'm currently looking for a loaded 2007-2008 Escalade (Black/AWD/Navigation) and the used prices seem to be about $5-10K higher than they were over 10 months ago when I looked initially. About 10 months ago, I had no problem finding a loaded, decent mileage (around 60K) Escalade for around $30K. Unfortunately I was in the market for a different car instead. Figured I'd wait till Summer to get an Escalade, the prices can only go down as these things get older and used more?
Right now, it seems the used market for the same year and mileage is up between $36-44K (even the base RWD models). I found one locally for around $31K but it had 85K miles on it and the interior was trashed. They are obviously selling because I'm seeing the ads drop off the dealer sites. My question is, is it common for GM dealerships to increase their prices this much during the Summer or are these vehicles just retaining their value significantly better than they were a year ago?
Any insight would be appreciated.
