Hi,
As you know it's hard to get part for my Tahoe here in France.
So when I saw a kit of 4 shocks for Tahoe with Autoride on ebay ($1400), I took my chances.

I bought from Arnott some Bilstein shocks that are supposed to be compatible with the Autoride© system.

In fact it's NOT. You have to strip appart the wire of the original connector and wire them to a by-pass system.

Same for front and rear.

In the kit was included a new air compressor and a repair kit for the air dryer.

What's the point of using such things if you don't have Autoride anymore?

Last night I checked on Autozone online and saw that Monroe that fit Autoride have similar prices than Arnott's.
I wish I new that before.

Interesting news Tom. Link to the kit you purchased so others don't make the same mistake?

Hey Tom, if that's the kit that you bought on that link, then you are indeed correct on losing the electronic dampening control that the stockers have. You could have bought the reman'd rear shocks like I did and would have had the dampening control on them!! But yes, that's the reason I didn't buy their fronts because of them not having a reman'd front like the rears, and if they didn't have that option for the rears, I wouldn't have bought from them at all!! Sorry for the misunderstanding, I thought I had explained all of that when we last talked about it!!

The Monroe system is what I placed on my Denali and have been ecstatic with the results and the price for all 4 shocks and new sensors was $125 at pepboys! I did have to replace my pump which was burn up and it ran about $400 at the dealer.... my stock shocks had holes in the bags, handling and ride with the new shocks are great.

I have the Autoride also. Did you completely remove yours to lower it?

No problem. Since the fornt shocks are not air pressured on demand, what's the point of having such a electronic control?

RIght now, I've just replaced the frond passengger side shock.
I will Replace this afternoon the three others. I will just let the connector loose. Worst is that Arnoot did not even take time do build a appropriate connector to its pass-by devices. If I follow the instructions correctly I should remove the OEM connector from the harnness and solder plugs that fit Arnott's plug.
I'll take some picture to explain it better. I need to learn some more mechanical english vocabulary. lol

As far as I know. I don't really need Autoride since the only thing I'll carry is my 60 pounds dog and two bags when we're going walking in the moutain. I don't have any trailler to haul neither.

What worried me was the compressor running too many times and the handling of the Tahoe that is far away from what i know with my MX6 Mazda.

Don't forget, you will still have auto leveling like the other shocks in the rear, just now the shocks will auto dampen automatically in the shock and not OEM electronically!! Not sure if you will notice much of a different between the two, especially since you are replacing very worn shocks for brand new!! And yes I agree, you would think they would make the electronics hook up without having to cut and splice to make them work, same goes for the compressor!!
